Custom Media Center, Beaverton

Designed to bridge the gap between Portland’s lush outdoor landscape and refined indoor living, this bespoke media center serves as an organic focal point for the home.

The clients envisioned a space that mirrored the natural beauty just outside their windows, a goal achieved through a careful balance of raw textures and intentional color. To maintain architectural cohesion throughout the property, the custom cabinetry was constructed with classic Shaker-style doors and a poplar face frame, flawlessly color-matched to existing elements in the home using Sherwin Williams Night Owl semi-gloss—a deep, earthy tone that brings the forest aesthetic inside.

Contrasting the painted casework is a prominent, plain-sliced white oak hearth treated with a matte Rubio Monocoat “Pure” finish, which honors and preserves the natural warmth of the wood grain. This organic texture flows seamlessly into the surrounding background, which features luxury American Oak wood slat acoustic paneling.

While the design prioritizes a serene, nature-inspired visual rhythm, the underlying engineering is entirely high-performance. To completely eliminate modern visual clutter, high-fidelity home theater speakers are concealed entirely within the lower bays behind custom doors inset with acoustically transparent Duvaltex FR701 fabric panels. All power lines, cabling, and LED drivers run hidden beneath the toe kick into an accessible cavity behind the electric fireplace surround.

This marriage of biophilic design and precision engineering delivers a true sanctuary space, handcrafted for luxury homes across the Portland Metro area, including Lake Oswego, West Linn, and Beaverton.
